THE VICE CHANCELLOR HIDES FROM MEETING WITH US
Our university is once again ignoring the students’ and staff’s voices and putting our demands on hold. Today after our walkout we entered Segerstedthuset for a sit-in requesting that the vice chancellor Anders Hagfeldt would come to our encampment to meet us and discuss our demands. We sat on the stairs and chanted while some of us managed to open a dialogue with the security, that claimed with subtle rhetorical skills to submit our request to the vice chancellor if we stopped chanting. After sitting quietly for an hour, in which Mattias Gardell gave us a fantastic improvised lecture about the history of racism and colonialism, we still hadn’t received any answer and the vice chancellor was said to be unavailable. This is why we couldn’t keep quiet: the chants resumed but weren’t listened to. In the meantime we made sure that all of Segerstedthuset was made aware of the university’s collaborations with the genocidal Israeli institution by distributing information about it! We will continue to pressure Anders Hagfeldt and the board of Uppsala University to meet us in order to follow our demands.
