Yesterday we observed the Nakba Day with a memorial in our encampment at the same time as the other university camps. Thank you @palestinska_folketsforening for the moving talks and the names read of martyrs who passed in this genocide🌹

Igår fick vi ett svar på våra krav från universitetet. Vi är riktigt besvikna på svaret. ”Som statlig myndighet är det inte universitetets uppgift att driva politiska frågor. Universitetens uppgift är att oberoende bedriva utbildning och forskning.”Detta går tvärtemot vad universitetet gjorde under Ukraina kriget.
Vi accepterar inte ledningens påstående om att de skulle stå helt handfallna i frågan. När samtliga palestinska universitet attackeras och demoleras i Gaza så har vårt universitet ett tydligt ansvar att ta ställning.
Att Umeå universitet inte agerar innebär att vårt universitet blir medskyldigt till Israels apartheid, ockupation och folkmord.
Därmed sitter vi nu kvar tills att universitetet börjar ta sitt ansvar🇵🇸❤️

ENCAMPMENT DAY 2 🍉⛺️
Today, May 15th, is Nakba Day, commemorating the ongoing catastrophe that started 76 years ago. We will stay for as long as we need protesting Stockholm University’s complicity in the current genocide in Gaza and the occupation of Palestine.
Thank you to all who came to support us today again, morally and materially. You enable us to keep protesting.

We ended Day 2 of our camp with a performance by @uppsalafeministkor! We were so touched when they joined us and said they wanted to sing.
They demonstrated how everyone can use their voice to show support and stand in solidarity with the people in Gaza!
