LET’S MAKE BANNERS!

Meet us in Folkets Park tomorrow for a banner making workshop where we get to express ourselves and be creative together.

It is (hopefully) going to be hot tomorrow, so don’t forget to bring water! 💦

See you tomorrow! 🔻

For everyone who kindly lent equipment to the camp there will be an opportunity to pick it up tomorrow, Tuesday 18th! DM us for more info 🇵🇸🍉

ENCAMPMENT SU DAY 34: Yesterday we decided that we too will go on summer break. Just like anyone else we need to recuperate and rest to regain energy to keep fighting for an end to the genocide and a free Palestine! So today we packed up most of our things to store until next semester.

With this particular part of the journey coming to an end – we are eternally grateful for all the love and support we have received from the outside world – this had not been possible without it! We are also thankful for all the new beautiful friendships we have formed during these five weeks of encampment. And more it shall be – both more weeks of solidarity encampments and more friendships! That is our promise to you, Astrid!

Speaking of security guards, here is some BONUS MATERIAL featuring the one and only – Tobbe.

ABOUT LAST NIGHT: We were invited by @rosendalgardenparty to participate in the action village and bring the presence of Palestine to the festival… However, the security guards kept demanding we would remove the Palestinian flag we had brought… Even when we were physically attacked by an aggressive man, they kept arguing about this. Other than that the security guards did absolutely nothing to intervene in the assault, and kept doing absolutely nothing until one of us shouted: “Are you just going to let him throw beer at us?!”

Besides mentioned clowns, people were quite nice and thanked us for bringing the flag, wanting to wave it around for a while, and it kept being passed around in the crowd. Whenever we would get tired in our arms from holding the flag, having to lower it we were repeatedly met by shouts from the crowd about raising it up again! And at one point two other Palestinian flags popped up in the audience, which was a beautiful moment!

Thank you to @massiveattackofficial for using your platform and power for this cause 🖤🤍💚❤️

‼️ Statement on our action at Aula Magna on June 4th, where we disrupted the hearing on the proposed new president of Stockholm University, Hans Adolfsson ‼️

🇵🇸 ☀️ ENCAMPMENT DAY 33:

1-2: Today @saintlevant and his friends brought the sun to camp, blessing us with their presence and music. (Yes it happened😜👆🏼). Thank you so much for your support! 🍉✊🏽

3-4: we were invited to the Action Village at @rosendalgardenparty. Our spirits were high as we walked in, chanting in unity.
However, the day took a dark turn when one of our comrades, a fellow students was physically assaulted by an intoxicated and aggressive man at the Rosendal garden.

This stark contrast—from a day filled with joy to one marred by violence—is deeply disturbing but it does tell the story of our society today; the good and the bad. We cannot as a society accept this as our new normal!

Students protesting against a genocide SHOULD NOT ‼️ be subjected to violent attacks, whether by angry white men in uniform or civilians… to be continued!

We were invited to the Action Village at @rosendalgardenparty to make our and Palestine’s presence known to remind the visitors of what is going on in Gaza and the West Bank 🇵🇸.

We were suddenly attacked by a malicious man, throwing drinks at us. He then proceeded to verbally assault and physically harm one of our comrades.
The man ripped the bracelet with a motif of the Gaza strip in the attack.

Who is this violent culprit? Attacking his fellow citizens for using their constitutional right to express their opinions – in an area where they were specifically INVITED to do so!

Being political is not a cute stamp accessorising a cultural event – being political comes with risks and it needs to be understood and respected as such!
Why was there no designated security around our INVITED presence? Allowing what has just occurred!

Elli för @umustudenter.forpalestina höll ett tal om hur @umeauniversitet och andra svenska universitet kan och bör agera. ✊🍉
